You Need To Invest In Yourself

II Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith …
James 2:18 I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Faith is the basis for successful godly living. There is a blessing for those that would lay down the solid foundation of faith, then live actively by it. Jesus healed the paralytic because of the aggressive faith of his friends. They took the trouble of bringing him all the way to Jesus, then when they found that the place was too packed for them to be close to Jesus, they made a hole from the roof top and dropped him right in front of Jesus. That was very aggressive! Be aggressive for the things of God, and we will have a lot more! God can bless us if we are willing to be active doers of His Word.

We talk about financial investment, but we need to invest into ourselves. To me, it is vital that I take care of myself. If I can build myself up, I can then affect my spouse, family, children and environment. God’s Spirit is in ME and He deals with me. God is the wisest being in the whole universe, and He knows how to build ME. We all know that the key to successful parenting is in the parents. The key to a successful company is in the directors. The key to a successful marriage is in the married couples themselves. Do not blame God for your lack of success. It is not God. God wants everything and everyone to be excellent and perfect. The key to all success is in charging and changing ourselves. We can’t change anyone else unless he/she wants to be changed, and therefore we need to invest in ourselves. If you want your children to believe in healing, they will need to see healing working in YOU. If you just tell them to come to church without showing them the fruit, you will drive them away. Christianity is genuine, not to be mixed with even an ounce of hypocrisy. It does not even depend on we changing ourselves, but to yield to God to allow Him to diffuse His nature, His love, His Word into us. That is why worship and meditating on the Word of God is so important. We need to switch off the carnal environment and switch on to God’s heavenly surroundings.
