Defeating Controlling Spirits- Intercessory Power

Intercessors are those who are praying for someone else.  God has created the human community to bless each other, though the devil has so perverted human relationships that they have become a source of sorrows and heartache!  Intercessors are those who would stand in the gap in prayer so that through their heart-felt words uttered to God, power might be released to bring rescue to those in captivity.  Parents are to be intercessors for their children, couples for each other, pastors for their church members and believers for the lost.  Relationships are channels for spiritual power to flow through.  Intercessory prayers must be heart felt and persistent for them to reach the desired results, for you are battling against spiritual wickedness that are controlling their captives.  Only earnest persistence can shatter the chains of darkness and bring light and freedom from heaven!  Spiritual strength which is faith in the Word is mighty to bind the strong man and spoil the devil’s house.  Intercession is a godly duty not a feeling.  We do not have to be prompted to intercede.

I Samuel 12:23: Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you

Through prayer, we sway the evil influence away from the victims.   We can also move circumstances to facilitate the fulfillment of the plan of God.  When you intercede for people, you focus on the person(s) to release God’s influence over his life.  Prayer is a privilege, a command and a discipline that brings great honor and blessings!  Intercessors move by the unction, the promptings of the Holy Spirit in the course of prayer, for as the Spirit moves, divine power is released.  You can train yourself to become an intercessor.  “Practice makes perfect” is a divine principle as well.  Consistent practice makes your goal accessible and obtainable!  The widow who kept knocking on the door of the unrighteous judge got her answer!  Be repetitive, persistent and consistent, do not give up until you see the victory.   Be a co-laborer with Christ, labor in prayer with Him on purpose and on schedule!  Devils are very persistent and discipline, we must win over them in our service unto the Lord!

Defeating Controlling Spirits- Action Power

Romans 2:13: (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Action is the manifestation of the heart.  Action is the real self.  Conversations and behaviors can be faked but habitual words and actions show forth the real man!  For the right action to spring forth, words have to go into the soul: will, thoughts and emotions, to build up the conviction or the faith of the heart.  When the faith is there, then the action will be there.  There is a battle ragging on for your faith!  God wants your faith in order to rescue or to bless you, demons want your faith to capture and destroy you.  The voice of demons is in the world: social media, ungodly circles, traditions of men; the voice of God is also in the world: the church, the Word and the Holy Spirit.  You must choose what and whom you listen to.  Whatever you listen to all the time will influence and control you, will birth actions through you.  It’s what you are entertaining on your mind, yielding to in your soul and acting on in your life.  Your character is constantly being built by choices and actions.  God or devils then work through your character to bless or hurt you!  Devils have no power over you, not until they get you to believe their lies.  That is why freedom from controlling demons is in “the Truth”.

John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Truth is the ultimate, the highest reality, is light.  Truth is power that shatters darkness.  Once devils have no darkness to hide themselves with, they flee!  Truth is living reality, not mental pictures, philosophical idea or religious concepts.  Truth has to penetrate into your inner most being for it to work; it won’t work if it is just on your mind.  Truth seeks manifestations through action.  If you would yield to the truth, action will spring forth, power will come forth!

James 2:26: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James 2:18: …I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Conquering Controlling  Spirits- Understanding

There are controlling forces that are constantly seeking to bring men into the captivity of their lusts which can be sinful pleasures, anger, greed, adultery, addiction, depression, possessiveness etc.  These are organized demonic forces that come heavily on people to oppress, to drive them to do evil.  These wicked spirits work legally by a spiritual law:  the law of “sin and death” Romans 8:2.  It is a law that is activated by sin to bring about destruction.  An angry man has no control over himself.  He is constantly overwhelmed by anger!

Romans 7:18: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Romans 7:19: For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Romans 7:20: Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.

Romans 7:21: I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

An unregenerate man is bound to be self-seeking to do evil.  He cannot help himself!  We may try to educate, to program, to discipline but the root of the problem: “self”, is still there.  The law of “sin and death” can only be superseded by the law of “the spirit of life in Christ Jesus”.  The “spirit of Christ” comes when one dies to self and be resurrected by the life of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.  That is: to live not by your self-will, thoughts and emotions but by the life of Jesus Christ in you, through the Word and the Holy Spirit.  “Self-centre” is the footstool for demonic activities, but when we give the control of our life consciously and habitually to Jesus Christ, the forces of darkness are shattered and broken and we release the overpowering law of the Spirit:  the Law of Life in Christ Jesus.  This law exalts and upholds the name of Jesus and releases angels to bring all demonic activities into subjection.
