Exaltation

Psa_57:5, 11  Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

The Word exalted means to be lifted up, to be high above!  “On high” is a powerful position, you get to see everything, to have the best and advantageous perspective.  A commander needs a high up position in order to come up with winning strategies.  A watch tower needs to be put on a high mountain in order to give signals to the incoming ships or planes.  Visual clarity is vital to making sound judgments and right decisions!  God wants us to operate from on high not below!

As we progress in life, we leave off childishness, move into maturity, be promoted to authority and ascend to spirituality!  The spiritual realm is the highest and the commanding realm; and the blood of Jesus has given us access into that realm to command victory on earth.

Heb 10:19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh

God has ordained for His church, for His nation to occupy the highest, commanding position.  You must know where you have been placed in order to function successfully on earth!

Isa_2:2  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Not only has God exalted our position but also our words

1Sa_2:1  And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

When you pray, you pray from a high and commanding position!  Your mouth has been enlarged over the devil, you can shut him up and put him down!  Praise the Lord!  So make up your mind not to dwell in the low lying marshes but arise and shine, soar and go up to the high places, for that is where your inheritance is.
Psa_18:33  He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places.
Isa_58:14  Then shall you delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth

Progress Not Stagnation

There has to be a momentum in your life, not stagnancy!  We are made to progress, to go greater and higher every day!
Psa 84:7  They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
See life as a learning curve and every problem that comes your way, a hurdle for you to jump over, to ascend to greater heights.  The weight and pressure of the devil acts as the weight of a body builder, to build his muscle and not to crush nor to break him.  Let your mind stay positive in the Love of your heavenly Father, for He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Your life is going up, progressing steadily, not spiralling down nor staying stagnant!  It is important that you choose an upbeat, positive and faith building atmosphere instead of a lukewarm and slow moving environment.
Eze 47:11  Its swamps and its marshes shall not even be healed; they shall be given to salt.
A swamp is an area of low-lying, uncultivated ground where water collects.  It is stagnant, with no flow, no movement.  It becomes a breeding ground for pests and destructive forces!  Take stock of your life, is it stagnant with entertainment, chores and tasks or is it filled with visions, goals, plans, services, prayers, praise and thanksgiving?
Surround yourself with positive, encouraging visionaries and high achievers in Christ Jesus!   The kingdom of Jesus Christ is always advancing in, through and around you!  Never stagnant!
Psa 92:12  The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Your life is made to flourish, to thrive, to bear fruit for others, to bring shadow to the weary!  You are made to grow, flourish and multiply.  Is that how you see yourself?  Your self-perception is vital!  Don’t ever see yourself as a loser!  Christ is in you!
2Co 3:18  But we all, with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon you and inside of you to transform and to promote you from being carnal, worldly and natural to being spiritual, heavenly and glorious!  Yield to the Spirit, yield to the demand for growth to be lifted up to the realm of glory!  Amen!

Mature and not Childish

We are made for growth.  God has created us for progressive growth: physically from a baby to an adult; in our soul, maturity of character and in our spirit, divine God likeness.  Our physical growth is a gift from God that we do not have to do anything ourselves but the growth of our soul and spirit is very much our responsibility, it does not come automatically.  We have been created and designed for growth but we have to choose and assert ourselves for that to happen.
Isa_9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given
December is the month that we celebrate the birth of Jesus as a baby, this child was born for us, to carry our sin, to save our souls.  The maturity of Jesus as a son was given to us by His own choice and sacrifice!  Jesus chose to grow up for us. He chose to mature in His manhood, in His spiritual submission to the will of the Father for us.  Maturity is a choice, a goal and a direction that we must take.  Maturity will promote and carry you in the right direction of your God given destiny.
Gal_4:1  Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
What is maturity?  It means not childish: not controlled, bound, intimidated, dictated and moulded by what is around you but being able to form a sound judgment, act wisely and go through the process with integrity and fortitude.
1Co 13:11  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
We have to purposefully put off childish thoughts, emotions, self-will and behaviour.  Growth is a choice!
Eph 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…
Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
A child is subject to the lies of the devil, a victim if without protection; an adult is a judge, a defender, a conqueror, a winner!  The difference between the two: maturity!
Without maturity, no one can be trusted with the authority and power of Jesus Christ!

Pause and Meditate

December is a good time to reflect on our past, what we can praise and thank God for and what we can improve on.  The Bible has a lot to say about Selah, to pause, to meditate, to reflect on.  It seems like time has been driving us all the time, it is so easy to become a slave to chores, routines and forget about Living unto the Lord with joy and thankfulness!
Psa_4:4  Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
It is good to take time to listen to our hearts, our spirit.  Our spirit knows better than our soul, in communion with the Holy Spirit, is an excellent guide for meaningful victorious living!  I suggest that you put aside some precious time to sit still before God, listen to Him and write down what comes to your heart.  A great time of listening is a great time of fellowship, in the presence of God is great learning!
Psa_21:2  Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
It is good for us to truly know our heart’s desires.  You can write them down and lift them up to the Lord.  It might not be just a matter of God giving something to you but you discovering for yourself what you truly need and want.  We might think that we want a thing, but in fact we really need a process, a journey of discovery, maturity, growing in godliness, acceptance , tolerance, boldness, perseverance, wisdom and love etc.  Goal setting and pursuing is good but life is a process, a journey; if we put too much emphasis on goals, tasks, achievements, we might lose our life!  The journey is as, if not more, important than reaching the destination.  Our life journey has to be meaningful, peaceful, joyful and most important of all, with the Holy Spirit always!  .  If you are always drifting, you will end up going no where, having no progress!  Direction, clarity, certainty and discipline are key elements to a rewarding Christian life.
